After Will Smith’s hilarious unveil for his new “Fresh Prince” Air Jordan 5, releasing on the famed actor’s 50th birthday, Jordan Brand is giving us an even closer look at the super limited colorway.
Inspired by Smith’s actual pair of laceless Grape 5s that he used to rock on set of the hit ’90s sitcom, this special AJ5 release recreates the style to a tee, including the OG Nike Air branding on the heel. The shoe is updated with a Fresh Prince-inspired insole that uses the yellow/pink color theme and typeface style synonymous with the show’s opening credits. Definitely one shoe that just makes you want to go, “Innnnn West Philadelphia, born and raised!”
The extremely limited Air Jordan 5 NRG “Fresh Prince” drops on Big Willie’s b’day (September 25), as well as an even more exclusive “Friends and Family” gold edition limited to 23 pairs. See pics of the more general of the two releases below:
Supreme had Hip-Hop heads in a frenzy yesterday when they previewed what appeared to be a new Liquid Swords collection in homage to the classic 1995 rap album, with Wu Tang Clan’s own GZA himself directly involved in the collab. While the tee will be in fact dropping this week, it’s actually part of a wider set of tees in tribute to the artwork of street artist Tabboo! and his eclectic style of animation.
Each shirt in the set incorporates a different feel from the artist’s perspective, whether it’s his musical side with an amazing paint-inspired graphic of Diana Ross and The Supremes (get it?), or the more wild style like the graffiti script motif seen in this small-yet-satisfying streetwear offering. The collection will also include hooded sweatshirts and a six-panel cap, so you’ll have a good portion to choose from if you get lucky online or have a plug at the Thursday line-up on Lafayette.
Look for all the GZA and Tabboo! tees in this collection to arrive online and in the NY, Brooklyn, LA, London and Paris locations beginning this Thursday (September 20), with Japan getting the release on Saturday (September 22). Get a full look below:
Pharrell’s latest expeditions with adidas have spanned across a global front, but one place that seems to always be a source of inspiration is East Africa. With the latest SOLARHU collection, flags from the culture-filled region are used to create a colorful capsule that’ll have you running for joy into the new season.
The biggest surprise here is the debut of a new silhouette, constructed from a Continental rubber outsole and BOOST midsole. While the build is a sight to see for sure — a handful of technical materials are incorporated to ensure comfort and durability — it’s the colorways that steal the show for sure. The three options available are all inspired by the flag colors as mentioned above, and it looks like Tanzania, Ethiopia and Madagascar are the regions they paid homage to. The set is completed with a range of athletic apparel, including tees, performance tights, tanks and shorts, that incorporate classic African patterns with perfection.
Capsule 2 in the Pharrell x adidas SOLARHU Pack drops globally starting September 25. Check out the vivid look below:
Just a few weeks ago, Big Sean was rolling out his impressive FW18 collection alongside PUMA. However, it looks like that was only the beginning for what they’ve got in store for us, as a new capsule of gear for this season just dropped.
Always representing his Detroit roots, Sean gave this collection of sportswear essentials the official “D” stamp of approval throughout. Pieces like the black satin varsity jacket and tailored jogger pants each incorporate the insignia, with PUMA’s trademark animal jumping through it for a proper co-branded finish. The standout is for sure the hockey hoodie which, outside of its premium build, looks really comfortable and brings to mind throwback Starter half zip jackets. Combining the Detroit MC’s cool creative touch with the hi-tech quality that PUMA has been developing for some time now really proved to be a great idea. Let’s hope there’s more to come!
The latest Big Sean x PUMA capsule collection is available now at select retailers and online. Check out the full lookbook starring the man himself below:
Even though Halloween is over a month away, everyone who celebrates the holiday is already prepping their costumes — the house decorations are even going up! Of course, Nike isn’t one to be outdone, as you can see from this new Kyrie 4 colorway that’ll go with pretty much any ghoulish get-up you can think of.
Officially marked as “Rage Green,” or at least that’s what the colorway is being called, the silhouette incorporates a primarily black base, interrupted only by a standout slime green effect that engulfs the shoe from toe to midsole. The oozing green effect makes its way onto the signature Swoosh as well, cleverly placed on the lateral side panel so anyone looking gets a glimpse at all the gory details. The other specs include vibrant green accents on the tongue and insole, which makes Kyrie’s signature look really dope against the black background.
Set your Mischief Night up right by copping the Nike Kyrie 4 “Halloween” for $120 USD when they drop on October 13. Get a look at a few more pics below:
As one of our favorite brands in contemporary menswear this season — the new Fall/Winter 2018 collection is beyond fresh! — Aimé Leon Dore can literally do no wrong, even when it comes to its line of accessories.
While we’ve seen a lot of these things before — caps, beanies, and carryalls for fall — the real eye-grabber is in the attention to detail when it comes to the construction process. From smooth-as-silk velveteen to the more art-inspired paisley print denim (seen above), premium quality makes it to the forefront in this colorful set. Hues like gold, navy and forest green are the perfect addition to anything you plan on rocking this season, and the waffle-knit skully caps aren’t too bad, either. Not bad at all if we’re being honest. For those that like to keep a few things on the go, a canvas shoulder bag is also available in two variations that match both the headwear and the autumn collection altogether.

After proving they were here to stay with an impressive Spring/Summer 2018 collection, Wu Wear is back at it with another collection of apparel built for when you have to protect your neck in the colder months ahead.
The new Fall/Winter 2018 line keeps with the same aesthetic that we saw last season — tees, long sleeve shirts with Wu Tang-inspired motifs, hoodies that follow the same theme — with a few essentials for the warmer temperatures added in as well, including sweaters, jackets and a full tracksuit. With RZA on board to lend a creative ear, it’s clear that this range of apparel is built for those that love the Clan and the rich Hip-Hop culture associated with the classic “W” imprint, as well as for casual shoppers that just like fly clothes. No wonder why they’ll be around forever.
Select items from the new Wu Wear Fall/Winter 2018 collection will be available at Urban Outfitters, Zumiez and the official Wu Wear web store. Peep the lookbook below:
The Carhartt WIP crew has been going extra hard this summer, starting from a capsule drop with Heron Preston in July to releasing both men’s and women’s offerings for the fall 2018 season just last month. Now, the brand is bringing its signature workwear quality to the feet of Converse, resulting in a fresh footwear collection that’s built for the season ahead.
The new Converse x Carhartt WIP One Star set gives us three autumn-inspired colorways — olive, cream and black are your options — constructed from the ever-sturdy Cordura® fabric. The low-top build makes it the perfect transitional shoe as you shift from summer to fall, especially for the days when its sunny but windy or humid but cloudy. Other small details in the design are stuff that tie back to the Carhartt aesthetic, like a tongue patch logo crafted up using coated tarp-like material (i.e. coverings for long-distance trucks), and a heel tag that’s supposed to resemble a D-ring hardware hanging. See? It’s all in the detailing!
Expect the Carhartt WIP x Converse One Star Collection to arrive this Thursday (September 20) at select retailers, the Converse web store and Carhartt-WIP.com. See more looks of all three colorways below:
I'm excited to be working on a new season of the Portrait Session podcast in partnership with Armani Exchange Connected. With the introduction of the hybrid smartwatch by Armani Exchange — a basic watch, now redefined with tech utility for effortless style and function — I wanted to connect with the stylish men I photograph on the street by bringing them into the studio for a portrait and have a chat about their particular approach to their personal style, work life and play.
ALI ASGHAR SHAH
In this episode, I connected with Ali Asghar Shah, a name you might be familiar with if you’ve read the last 4 issues of MITT magazine or attended one our talks featuring the fashion enthusiast. When I first met Ali a few years ago, his love and deep knowledge of the fashion industry was apparent from our first conversation, he literally could not stop talking about the matter. From then on, I knew he would be an amazing voice for Men In This Town, one of a fashion outsider, looking in and fanboying out. Along with discussing his MITT issue 10 cover story featuring Jeremy Hershan (which is available to order now), we also chat about growing up in Pakistan, his Lollywood famous father and leaving it all behind to follow his own path in Australia.
