Even though the eternal basketball champ Kobe Bryant hasn’t officially been on the court in over two years, his presence is still felt enough for Nike to give him another signature shoe. Hence, we now have the brand new Kobe A.D. silhouette.
Arriving here in a familiar purple hue — a clear nod to his days as a lifelong L.A. Lakers leader — the A.D. features an innovative Flywire upper with an added synthetic top layer. The slip-on construction adds for easy access as well, in addition to Lunarlon foam for cushioning, engineered tread, and black and yellow detailing to complete the look that really lets us know this is a Black Mamba exclusive. Go ‘head, G.O.A.T!
No word yet on when this Nike Kobe A.D. colorway — let’s call it “Exodus Purple” for now — is set to drop, but the OG “Sail” colorway is expected for Kobe Day (August 24). Check out a few more pics while we wait on the official release date info:
After an explosive interview with Funk Flex today, followed by a scorching-hot Twitter beef with ex-man/hype man Safaree that still might be going on at this very moment, Nicki Minaj has literally put all eyes in the rap world on the rollout of her new album, Queen. While beef and tea are always welcomed, especially around lunch time, the merch in support of the new album is worth checking out as well.
The seven-piece collection features tees, both long-sleeved and short-sleeved, and hoodies that feature album cover motifs and references to songs off the album. One in particular, not surprisingly, is dedicated to her smash hit single “Chun-Li,” featuring an animated version of Minaj dressed and ready for action like the Street Fighter II character that inspired the single. Another motif that stands out is a hoodie dedicated to her latest collaboration on the album with Future titled “Sir,” proving that this is a cool capsule set that queens and kings out there will enjoy. Well, maybe not Scaff Beezy after today!
Pick up all the pieces in Nicki Minaj’s Queen album merch capsule — including a super limited run of signed album lithos (seen above) — by heading to her official online store. Each item also comes with a digital copy of the album.
As fans of NY Yankees star Aaron Judge await to see how quickly he’ll recover from that wrist injury, the 2017 Rookie of the Year decided to bless diehards with a treat in the form of his brand new Oakley frames as the newest member of #TeamOakley.
Setting up shop at the NYC Oakley Store on Fifth Avenue last Friday (August 10), Judge took fans on a history of his lengthy relationship with Oakley — at age 11 he had custom-colored frames to match the colors of his first softball team uniform — and why he’s happy to be officially endorsed by the Cali-based sports eyewear brand. Of course, a few fans asked about his stats and recovery time when the Q&A came around, but all eyes were definitely on his custom “99” Radar® EV Pitch® frames, which feature the innovative PRIZM lens technology. It also didn’t hurt that all fans in the shop walked away with their own pair of Judge-stamped frames. We’ll just speak for everyone when we say this: thanks AJ!
Get a look at images from Aaron Judge’s in-store event below, and shop the Oakley Radar EV Pitch — customizing available, too! — by hitting up the Oakley online store.
We all knew Supreme would stop the world yesterday after unveiling the new Fall/Winter 2018 offerings that go on sale in a few days, but no one expected them to take over, of all things, New York City journalism. However, that’s exactly what the legendary skatewear brand did by surprisingly stamping its iconic Box logo on the front-page of the New York Post.
With ‘Preme heads hustling to get their hands on the clear-as-day collectors item, a mild case of pandemonium skyrocketed throughout the NYC area, and saw a huge press day for the Post as a result. As expected, those that were lucky enough to arrive at newsstands early enough to cop a copy have decided to flip it for as much as $40 and higher.
The collab interestingly enough even brought two competing papers together as well, with Post publisher Jesse Angelo giving a nice batch of quotables to The New York Times about the collab. Here’s what he had to say in regards to the overflowing reactions on this “quickstrick” release:
“We knew that this would be a collector’s item. Supreme is such a cool brand and we have so much affinity, to the design kinship of the logos, to being bold, and never shy, and New York-based.”
— Jesse Angelo, New York Post (via The NY Times)
Even though you might’ve missed your chance at getting one for its original $1.50 price tag, eBay is still an option — it’ll just cost you about 40x more than the original price. Some are even selling lots for $500 and even over $1,000 — but hey, it ain’t cheap being a fan of Supreme!
Did you get a copy of the Supreme-theme New York Post? Better yet, would you pay extra to own a piece of New York history? Sound off by letting us know over on Facebook and Twitter!
This capsule includes two hoodies and two tees, each emblazoned with A Bathing Ape’s signature 1ST CAMO rectangular graphic. Color options are limited to black, white and grey, giving this set a simple approach that fits right into your daily wardrobe. So, whether you’re hitting the streets, the livest club in your city, or a EDM festival spearheaded by, well, Steve Aoki, then you’ve got the perfect tee for the occasion right here.
The BAPE x Steve Aoki collab is expected to arrive sometime in the next few days when the world-spanning DJ hits the road on tour, but check out the set below until the official announcement:
In the streetwear community, no brand causes more commotion than Supreme when it comes to unveiling a new collection — those daily lines outside their flagship shop in NYC ain’t for nothing! Now, as the brand rolls out its highly-anticipated Fall/Winter 2018 collection, it really becomes clear what the hype is all about and why it’s definitely well-deserved.
Quality is key when it comes to Supreme. Their collaborations are always top-of-the-line, from sportswear with Champion to leather goods with Schott NYC, and the details are consistently in line with the “wild style” that inspired the skatewear brand to launch over two decades ago. Standouts this time around include dog-tagged pieces designed by graffiti artist Sancheeto, a embroidered Enter the Dragon-inspired work jacket and pant set, official Supreme Team varsity jackets — also featuring stellar artwork by Cheeto (seen above) — and pretty much every single outwear piece in the jacket department. Definitely some dope things here; no cap, although they have a lot of those, too!
No off-the-wall accessories this time around, unless you consider Supreme-branded Lunden cough drops, life-size male and female anatomy mannequins, KeyTron pocket knives in collaboration with SOG®, and, umm, hand warmers to be out the box. Okay, maybe a slight bit eclectic! Either way, the kings of this game really came through once again with some of the freshest gear we’ll probably see for all of next season.
Expect the Supreme Fall/Winter 2018 collection to arrive this Thursday (August 16) exclusively in the NY, LA, London and Paris stores, with a drop in Japan stores on August 18. The online shop opens back up starting August 20 here in the States and over in the UK, and on August 25 in Japan. Check out every piece right now in the online preview, but peep the full lookbook below before you go:
As Serena Williams — tennis court G.O.A.T. and overall goddess of everything she touches — prepares for the U.S. Open in a few weeks, Nike and Virgil Abloh are outfitting her in some seriously fly gear with the official “QUEEN” capsule set.
The collection arrives in the form of two finely-tuned and tulled dresses — one for “daytime” and one for “nighttime,” of course — and performance sneakers branded especially for Serena. Each dress incorporates Virgil’s signature all-caps and quotations lettering, fittingly spelling out “SERENA” in some places and “LOGO” on others. The footwear options include the NikeCourt Flare 2 PE, Air Max 97 and Blazer Mid SW, with each silhouette featuring a colorful gradient effect in its own special way.
Peep the Serena Willaims-exclusive (for now at least) Nike x Virgil Abloh “QUEEN” Collection below:
It always seems like our homies overseas get the flyest Nike hookups, and the latest colorway for the Swoosh’s official chunky sole offering is yet another dope Euro-exclusive.
The M2K Tekno first saw the light of day back in February after debuting in the John Elliott RTW Fall 2018 runway show, leading many to think that it was the designer’s collaboration. However, Nike officially deemed “Techno Future” as the proper name for this colorway, which blends a “Summit White” upper with “Team Orange and “Mountain Blue” hues in perfect portions. Another added point is that, contrary to it’s previous womens-only availability, Nike UK also plans on dropping the shoe in sizes for men as well, giving the fellas a chance to swag out too.
Head over to Nike’s UK online shop this Thursday (August 16) at 9:00 AM CEST (3 AM EDT) to cop the M2K Tekno “Techno Future” for £89.95 (approx. $114.99 USD). More pics below:
Excited to share a new series of posts in collaboration with Sydney based artist, Leo Greenfield (who I had on the podcast last week). Every couple weeks Leo will share a street sketch with a focus on interesting men and their best friends. Hope you enjoy!
